Beneath a a pine forest, Tenjin Beach is a sandbank that continues to the entrance of the Nagase River. It may be close to Highway 49, but compared with Shida and Naga Beaches, Tenjin is relatively peaceful and people around here seem to prefer it.
The campground is open all year long, and is a nice spot in front of Lake Inawashiro from which to view Mt. Bandai, so it is a favorite spots for photographers and painters.
One of Japan’s three major shrines, “Kodaira Gata Tenmangu”, is here, and every year at the end of July, it holds a big festival. Furthermmore, from the end of January to the beginning of February in the severe winter season, strong west winds blow off the lake at Tenjin Beach and the spray turns to ice in the trees.
In addition, from Tenjin Beach to East Mikazuki Lake, on about one kilometer of thelakeside, ice attached to the trees is called “shibukigori”, and is a rare sight for a multitude of visitors.
