Quality Confections Aisu Aoi "Silk Road Bunmeikan"
Phone:0242-27-1001
Aizu-Wakamatsu City, Otemachi 4-6
At the "Land and Sea Silk Road Museum" we witness the land-based Silk Road and also the sea-trade route that were, it is believed, the source of European and Chinese sweets, and the tea ceremony in Japan.
This is a real building that was constructed reusing refractory bricks from a kiln, the thick beams from usual folk dwellings, lots of Japanese zelkova wood, and stone masonry.
Silk Road obtains important works of art, which creates a great ambience with the attached teahouse.
