This lacquerware art museum is the former house of the Kazama family, once the wealthiest family in Fukushima Prefecture.
Inside there are things made from Japanese zelkova wood, all lacquered by “Tanaka Toru”, who spent his entire life passionately painting the lacquerware displayed here.
On the second floor, you can get a great deal of knowledge about tools to extract the lacquer, and the tools and steps used in making lacquerware.
In addition, we make and sell lacquerware directly, making these craft works ideal souvenirs.
