In 1973, Fukushima Prefecture designated this "Urabandai Wildfowl Forest Yacho No Mori" and on this course you can watch birds like the Black-faced bunting, Yellow bunting, Narcissus flycatcher, Siberian Blue robin, etc. In addition, as spring begins, Skunk cabbage and Anemones line the path, and the beginning of summer welcomes the voices of the Hokkaido Cicada to the forest.
From Hosonoguchi the road is fairly level for one kilometer, and even in the rain, one can walk here without worry.
From the Yacho No Mori viewing platform you can get a view of all of Mt. Bandai and Lake Hibara, the best position in Urabandai.
