
1601 marked the beginning of this old temple of the Soto sect, and it was called Kairakuzan as an honorific mountain name attached to a temple. Here the principle image is a very precious copper statue of Amida inscribed with the date Bunei 8 (1271), and this important Buddhist statue is noted as a national art treasure.
