In April 1956, the Byakkotai Memorial was founded by Hayakawa Kiyoji, a lawyer from Aizu-Wakamatsu, who gave his entire fortune to founding this building for the Boshin War archives that tell posterity about the tragedy of the Byakkotai.
Famous painters・works and wide variety of other things From Meiji to Showa Era are on display here, and the quality of these exhibits and building are given a top evaluation by experts! If you come to Aizu, don't miss it!
There is a great deal of famous historical information here, about Kondo Isamu and Shimada Kai from the Sen brigade, and from the Western Army, General Iwakura Tomosada and Itagaki Taisuke, that makes this a must for history buffs.
