Yama-gun, Kitashiobara-mura, Hibara Goshikinuma entrance 1074
Our pension’s name comes from the compilation of epic poetry of Finland. When he was a child, the owner listened to music of the composer Sibelius, and developed a longing for the North (We still have not been there). Urabandai has the same beautiful forests and lakes as Finland.
From the pension's grounds, to the south rises Mt. Bandai; to the north, the west side of Mt. Azumaya; to the east, Mt. Adatara; letting you see three of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains.
Kalevala is proud of having French bread baked in Urabandai water and air, and an observatory. The owner loves his work of making bread, and guiding our guests in the night sky.
It is only six kilometers from the pension to Gran-Deco Ski Resort, and to Urabandai Nekoma Ski Resort, only 7 km.
There is a path from the pension to Gran-Deco, and if you arrive in the morning, you can change your clothes and get discount coupons for lift tickets and parking.
