When winter is over, spring comes in at a gallop. Spring flowers like Witch Hazel, Skunk Cabbage, Windflowers and many others bloom one after another. “Tomo Lake” is also a home to the Narcissus Flycatcher, Siberian Blue Robin and other wild birds.
In May, Fatsia sprouts, Spikenard and many kinds of wild vegetables shoot up, and in June Fiddlehead Fern also makes its appearance. Oguninuma’s Japanese Azaelias bloom in mid-June, and until the end of the month, the bogs exhibit a profusion of Nikko Daylilies that spread over it like a yellow carpet.
