In a lakeside forest there is a large natural stone, "Sanposeki" that has been designated a national important cultural property, and the origin of the name "Tenkyokaku" and the "History of Tenkyokaku" was inscribed in this stone. After His Royal Highness, Prince Arisugawamiya Takeshi Hitoshi died in Taisho 9 (1920), his widow Princess Iko fulfilled his wish to put these words on the north side of a slightly high mountain, on a "sanposeki" as the natural stone was called. His secretary, Hidaka Chichibu, wrote the "All About Tenkyokaku Memorial" and this was carved into the stone.
