The course starts at the entrance to Urabandai ski area. In the winter, you are able to drive as far as the ski slopes, but in summer you can't drive there because of danger from rocks falling off the cliffe The other side is rugged, but while climbing you can see Mt Bandai on the way, and at the top you walk from Donuma to Nakanoyu.
Usually the time of ascent is four hours and ten minutes, and it takes about two hours and 45 minutes to come down again.
