This Onba god is Princess Tachibana, also known as Princess Ashina, who assisted the poor and walked all over the country. On August 16, Daido 2 (807) she stopped at the Kanamagari ship mooring on the Nagase River. Then a horrible storm blew up with the wind, rain, and the raging flood stopping the ships. In the middle of all this, a pregnant woman met with an accident in the water but, with the help of Princess Tachibana, she had a safe childbirth.
Villagers prayed thanks to the new patron of the pregnant, Princess Tachibana, and so they wouldn't forget her divine power, after she died, they made her an Onba goddess and named this Tachibana Hime Shrine. This made three protectors of children, along with Koyasu Kannon Enmei Jizoson and Komorigo Eshibojin.
