In the cemetery of Tomyo Temple in Omachi are the final resting places of officers and men of the West Army who were killed when they launched an attack in the Wakamatsu area during the Boshin War. There are graves of 150 soldiers from the groups of Satsuma, Choshu, and others.

During the Boshin War of 1868, men from not only the Aizu clan but many from the West Army as well were killed. The Seigun Cemetery holds the remains of the men from the West Army who died at Aizu, and those who died in the war, from Satsuma, Choshu, Ogaki, Koeshu, Bishu and other areas, have been at rest here since that time.
Given the fact that we have buried 150 enemies of the Aizu clan here, we can say it was big of us, and we have kept the Aizu samurai spirit.
