Yamagataya's theme is, decisively, "Love your countryside"-

Yamagataya is in Kitakata City, Atsushiokano Town; the location of Japan's most famous organic farming. Farmers understand what is important in life, and take great pains to raise agricultural products carefully, so the kitchen staff at Yamagataya prepares meals from the heart. Besides our dishes, tableware, furniture, and other furnishings, we use a wide variety of things from the surrounding community.

A long time ago at Atsushio Hot Springs, hot and salty water came forth from the center of the mountain, it is said. Going slowly into the bath, people say, the body heals and restores itself, and a low temperature sauna heated with bamboo and wood charcoal (Charcoal Baden), gives such pleasure, relaxing and restoring body and mind.
